Bengaluru South City Corporation Rolls Out NYE Safety and Power Plans for Koramangala, J.P. Nagar
December 12, 2025
The Bengaluru South City Corporation held a review meeting on Friday to prepare for New Year’s Eve celebrations. Additional Commissioner Naveen Kumar Raju directed all departments to closely work with the city police. He ordered a WhatsApp group be formed with representatives of all key departments to ensure smooth coordination. Koramangala and J.P. Nagar are known for high crowds during NYE. To keep the area bright, Bescom officials must ensure all streetlights around pub zones are fully functional and power supply in public places is uninterrupted. Raju said, “Temporary lighting arrangements must be installed immediately in poorly lit areas.” Police have set aside 10 hospital beds at St. John’s and will reserve beds at Jayanagar Government Hospital too. Six to seven teams of doctors, nurses, and ambulances will be stationed in police-identified hotspots. Waste management will work quickly to clear garbage including firecracker remains and discarded bottles. Officials must put mandatory signboards at all ongoing city works near Koramangala and J.P. Nagar to prevent accidents and fix poor footpaths immediately.
