The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers to report to its office at 3 p.m. on December 11, 2025. He must submit a detailed report on the airline's recent operational disruptions. The DGCA also directed senior officials from key departments to attend the meeting. The airline has been asked to provide updates on restoring flights, the recruitment plan for pilots and cabin crew, staff strength, number of canceled flights, and refunds processed. These demands come after thousands of IndiGo flights were canceled, delayed, or rescheduled. To investigate, the DGCA formed a four-member panel led by Joint DG Sanjay Brahamane and including Deputy DG Amit Gupta, Flight Operations Inspectors Kapil Manglik and Lokesh Rampal. The panel will study manpower planning, crew rostering, and adherence to new duty and rest rules for pilots. DGCA chief Faiz Ahmed Kidwai announced on December 5 that this panel will check IndiGo's compliance with revised Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules. The goal is to identify failures and ensure accountability for the disruptions that affected thousands of passengers.
