UAE to Experience Cloudy Skies, Rain, and Winds from Dec 12 to 19
December 10, 2025
The UAE will face a week of unsettled weather from December 12 to 19. Cloudy skies, scattered showers, and gusty winds are expected, brought on by surface and upper air low pressure systems. Early in the week, light to moderate rain will fall intermittently across various regions. Residents should be cautious when venturing outdoors as showers may come and go.
Cloud cover will change, alternating between bright skies and overcast patches. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) explains this is due to an expanding surface low-pressure trough combined with a deepening upper-air low causing more instability in the atmosphere.
Winds will generally blow from the southeast to northeast but may sometimes shift northwest. Speeds will stay light to moderate, but may get stronger near heavier clouds or rain storms. Strong gusts could stir up dust in open areas, reducing visibility for short periods.
Marine conditions will mirror the weather. The Arabian Gulf may see moderate to rough seas at times, especially when winds pick up near clouds. The Sea of Oman will be calmer, with slight to moderate waves. Authorities advise caution for sea and beach activities during this time.
The NCM has urged residents to stay alert for sudden weather shifts, especially in coastal regions and exposed areas. This week of changeable weather calls for careful attention to updates and outdoor safety.
